The Baltimore Revolution clinched the AL East with a 3-game sweep of the Houston Buushwackerz. They have now won 16 of their last 17 games, and their 8th straight division title. Damaso Solano pitched 6 strong innings and picked up his 19th win on the season in the division clinching game. Solano is one of the leading contenders for the AL Cy Young Award. It would be the sixth of his career if he were to win it. Despite their accomplishment, their was no champagne or celebrating after the game for the Revolution. "This is just the first step. But our goal is much bigger. No ring and we've failed. We're too good not to win it all. And we have to go into every game with that mindset. We need to have the swagger and the confidence that we're unbeatable if we want to win it all," says Alfredo Pinentel, one of the Revolution's young stars. For the last few seasons, Baltimore has been one of the top teams in the AL, often going into the playoffs as the AL's top seed and the odds-on favorite to win it all. However, in two of the last three seasons, the Revolution have exited from the postseason without winning a series. The disappointment of the fans at the team's inability to win the franchise's second championship is palpable. The team and front office have made no secret that this season is supposed to be different. This year, once again, the Revolution have been the best team in the AL during the regular season. They'll enter the playoffs as their league's top seed and the favorite to win another World Championship. Fans hope they won't be disappointed.
