This post is just some information that everyone in our league should be aware of.
- This seasons winner of the $20 WIS Gift Card is drjck of the Jackson Runnin' Rebels. Grats to drjck. After rollover, keep an eye on your SM for the Gift Card.
- Kram has decided to stick around for one more season. So its good to have him back. We'll have four openings (one of which is already filled) and I've already posted a classified ad, and had some interest so we should roll into Season 17 within 24 hours once again.
- No violations of any of the MILB or MLB MWR this season. Nice job everyone.
- Just so everything is out in the open. One of our openings is Monterrey. It was pointed out to me that tmfran had ended the season on a 13 game losing skid. Upon further investigation, I realized that he has lost 17 of 19 games down the stretch. This raised his draft position from 9th to 4th. In those last 19 games, only one starting pitcher was a 100% and 15 times the starting pitcher was at less than 50%. After touching bases with tmfran, I referred the matter to the VC and it was unanimously voted to ask tmfran not to renew. He was very cooperative for the entire process and I wish him the best. But as a result of either tanking or carelessness, tmran will not be back due to the condition of his team to end the season.
- As a direct result of the situation in #4, the league private rules were ammended. I've added the following to Rule 4: TEAM ATTENTION RULE... "any flagrant action or inaction that results in clear lack of team competitiveness (including, but not limited to: players playing clearly out of position for lengthy stretches, such as a C playing SS; stretches of multiple games with starters or relievers entering the game significantly fatigued) can result in penalties ranging from warnings, probation or dismissal from the league. What constitutes lack of competitiveness is at the discretion of the Commish and the VC." There was no VC vote on this. I used my perogotive as Commish to ammend this rule.
- Also as a result of the situation in #4, I proposed an increase in the league's MWR. The proposal was to increase the MWR from 50/110 to 55/120/185. This proposal was passed by the VC by a vote of 4-1. This rule is basically a 55 min win season, followed by two 65 win seasons. Or averaging a record of 62-100 every season would also meet the MWR. This new rule will take place starting in Season 17. For everyone's information, no owner who has been in the league for at least the last three seasons has violated the conditions of the new MWR in that time frame. Also, any infraction will not result in auto-expulsion but the matter will be referred to the VC for a decision. The rule will not be grandfathered in, meaning everyone's floor will be 55 wins for Season 17.
