For the second season in a row, KC's AJ Cone is the #1 1B. He's not the typical slugging 1B. He is an on-base machine with exceptional speed and base running skills. He has 20+ home run per year power too, but is really a doubles machine. Defensively, he is very rangy for his position getting more balls that nearly all of his counterparts are incapable of reaching.

Randall is pretty close to a typical 1B. He has average speed, and an average glove. He is capable of playing nearly every day, without needing a break. He is a very balanced hitter without a weakness in his offensive game. Very disciplined hitter, with excellent on-base skills and good power.

Recently acquired by the Jazz, it was a big get for the New Orleans franchise. Venters was inexplicably kept in AAA far longer than he should have been. I'm pretty sure he's the first 5-time AAA MVP in SP history. He'll provide a nice offensive boost for his new team. Above average power, and excellent contact combined with good speed and defense plus very high durability makes Venters one of the top every day 1B in the league.

One of Washington's up and coming young players, Roberts is struggling so far in his rookie season. He's one of the fastest players around and after settling in, will be one of the best defensive second basemen in the league. If he figures out how to hit at the highest level, he'll be a star.

He is more of a natural third baseman, but is very capable of providing solid play at second. He is versatile at the plate and in the field. Has above average power and speed and is pretty slick with the glove.

The veteran Chen doesn't excel at anything in particular, but does everything pretty well. Good with the glove, good with the bat and doesn't make mistakes on the bases.
