The Milwaukee Titans captured their second franchise World Series and ended the Baltimore Revolution's run of 3 straight championships. They did so with a surprising 4-1 series victory over the heavily favored AL Champs. This is the third time these two storied franchises have met in the World Series, with the Titans pulling off the upset in Seasons 12 and 17 while the Revolution were successful in Season 16. The Revolution offense struggled at times while attempting to cope with the prolonged slump that the AL MVP Bruce Donovan went into right as the playoffs started. He only hit .184 with a single home run before being sidelined early in the World Series with a bulging disk. The Titans offense didn't fare too well for much of the playoffs either, hitting only .246 as a team. It was Alberto Lima, Toby Barry and Dewayne Thompson who provided all of the offense the Titans needed. In the team's 16 playoff games, these 3 players combined to hit .309 with 13 HR and 40 RBI. While the hitting struggled, the pitching was superb. The team ERA during the postseason was 2.99. Veteran Rodney Lambert in particular, was stellar. In his four starts he was 2-1 with a 1.95 ERA. The Titans will hold a banner raising ceremony on their Opening Day versus the Iowa City Badgers.
