This matchup, much like the ALCS, has far reaching implications beyond this season. The World Series could be a defining moment for either of these franchises. A win for Baltimore would be the franchises fifth WS banner and would solidify the Revolution as maybe the best franchise in league history. It would also leave them only one World Series behind Pittsburgh for most in SP history. For Vancouver, it would be the second championship in three seasons. It would also cement the Twins as the premier franchise currently in the NL as Pittsburgh, Milwaukee and Chicago continue to fade from their former glory. They would then be in a position to start talking about the 'D' word... dynasty. We may officially go from the Revolution dynasty to that of the Tragedy Twins. To be able actually take if from Baltimore, well, you couldn't write a better scrip than that. This will be a tough series. Both team are strong in pitching and offense. Baltimore was second in the entire league in runs scored and Vancouver was fifth. Vancouver led the league in fewest runs allowed and ERA, while Baltimore was ranked a less impressive 11th. Both teams also took care of the LCS foes quickly so both will be well rested with their rotations set. Baltimore's offense has been red hot in the playoffs, with a team OPS of .841. Their pitching could improve though, with a team ERA of 4.16. The Twins have struggled a bit with the stick throughout the postseason, with a team OPS of .699. The pitching has been stellar, with a team ERA of 2.50. The Twins will need more from the offense though, to defeat Baltimore. That lineup is too deep to simply rely on your pitching. The red hot Revolution bats will power them to another ring. Baltimore wins in seven.
