TOP TEN SECOND BASEMEN

Not a true second baseman, as he recently moved over from third. A complete player though, who is more than capable of playing a very solid defensive second base. Not only is he versatile in the field, but he is alto a multi-faceted offensive player. He has explosive power, and is a very good base stealer. Also has pretty good contact and eye. One of the best all around offensive players in the league.
2-
A very similar player to Roque. He is also more of a natural third baseman, but is very capable of providing solid play at second. Like Roque, he is versatile at the plate and in the field. Doesn't posses Cristobal's prodigious power, but is a little bit slicker with the glove.
3-
He is average defensively at second. Offensively he is one of the smartest base runners in the league, probably getting the best jump when stealing out of any of the other players in the league. Combine his base running acumen with very good speed make Rodriguez a handful for opposing batteries. While he isn't off the charts good as a hitter, he is very solid with above average power, eye and contact.

TOP TEN THIRD BASEMEN
1-
Far and away the best third baseman in SPL. Gold Glove caliber defense. Excellent contact. Very good power. Also has a pretty good batting eye and is a capable base stealer. The cherry on top is that he is a fitness fanatic and one of the most durable players in the league. Can play all 162 if you asked him to.
2-
When you have the top two third baseman in the league, it means somebody is playing out of position. That has lead Martin to play most of the season at second, where he's been pretty good. This former #1 overall pick has always had the talent. Good glove, solid bat and pretty good base runner. He only finally seemed to put everything together consistently once he started playing in Norfolk. Before then, he was wildly inconsistent and a bit of a disappointment.
3-
Only recently did Randall start playing at third. He's really naturally more of a corner outfielder. He's done a credible job though, with good enough range and glove. His arm is weak for third though, and he has struggled to make that throw from time to time. There is no doubt about his offense though. Maybe the fastest guy in the league, with very good base running instincts to boot. Good with the bat as well. Has very good contact with above average power and eye.

TOP TEN SHORTSTOPS
1-
The best offensive short stop in SPL, who isn't a liability with his glove. Beech isn't a Gold Glover, but is about average defensively. He is very durable, rarely needs a day off. Above average base runner with above average speed. Pretty good contact hitter, but not a power hitter. More of a doubles or line drive hitter.
2-
Campos is a better hitter than Beech, with much more power. He is also a much more potent threat while on the base bathes. Like Beech, he is a very durable player. The difference is that Campos can be a bit of an adventure with the glove. He definitely needs refinement in that department, as he needs to improve his range and he boots too many balls. He may ultimately end up moving to second or third base.

Acosta certainly possesses the range and arm to play short, but many wonder if he'll ever be good enough with the leather. Coaches in Houston must have felt the same way because after some time at short over the last few seasons, they have moved him to the hot corner for this season where he has been fantastic. He is very fast, though sometimes gets too overzealous when running on the bases. Will hit some home runs from time-to-time but is really more of a doubles hitter. One of the best contact hitters in the league, though, like many Dominican players, is a bit of a free swinger. Despite swinging at some bad pitches, he actually doesn't strike out too much. With his excellent contact, he is the very definition of a 'bad ball hitter.'
