I've spent some time over the last few weeks developing a player rating formula. Special thanks to jcairns for his input and to hurricane384 for the inspiration and guidance from his blog work in other leagues. Keep in mind that (with a couple of exceptions where I noticed) players were pulled from the 'Player Search' feature and therefore only rated by their primary listed position, not necessarily where the player is actually playing. Also, as I've been working on this for a couple of weeks, if you changed a player's position, he may be under the old one if I'd already run that list. Before I do this same thing next season, I'll let everyone know so they can put the player at the proper position if they want to see where their guy stacks up against others at his same position. Now, without further delay, here are the Top Ten C, 1B, DH. Withing the next few days I'll post the Top Ten 2B, 3B, SS followed by Top Ten LF, CF, RF and finally the Top Ten SP and RP...

TOP TEN CATCHERS
1-
Above average defensively, with a keen eye for the game. Studies alot of film and is always prepared to call a good game as a result. A durable player as well, needing only the occasional day off. Average contact, but possesses above average power and specializes in victimizing right handed pitching. Best all around catcher in SPL.
2-
Doesn't have the excellent arm he used to, but its still enough (barely) to play behind the plate. Highly durable. Has a good batting eye and really tees off on lefties. Competent on the bases, though his speed is what you'd expect from a 35-year old catcher.
3-
Decent arm for a catcher, though he does have a tendency to sail the ball from time-to-time. Pretty balanced hitter with above average contact, eye and power. Gives left handed pitchers fits.

7- Rich Whitehill (NOR)
8- Matt Wolf (CLE)

TOP TEN FIRST BASEMEN
1-
Rare for a 1B in that he is the best base stealer in the league. Very good defensively. Above average contact, power and eye. Sees right handed pitching especially well.
2-
Possessed the most raw power in the league just a couple seasons ago and hasn't lost too much in that regard. Still an extremely powerful hitter, though he does strike out a fair amount as well. Above average defensively at 1B. Was the best base stealing 1B until Cone made his debut in Season 19. Still is a very good base stealer though. Rare combination of both speed and power.
3-
Very consistent, though not flashy. Very durable player, able to start all 162 at 1B if needed. Balanced hitter at the plate with good contact, power and plate discipline. Average, or maybe slightly below, as a base runner.

TOP TEN DESIGNATED HITTERS
1-
The most disciplined hitter in the league. Dominates left handed pitching, hits righties exceptionally well. Also possess very good contact and power. Could be the best all around hitter in SPL.
2-
One of the top batting eyes in the league, and absolutely one of the toughest batters in the league to strike out. Hits both right handed and left handed pitching equally. Excellent contact, though only sightly above average power. Good speed but has a reputation for making stupid decisions on the bases.
3-
Very balanced hitter. Very good contact and power. Above average batting eye. Pretty tough to strike out. Below average speed, but doesn't make too many mistakes while running the bases. Very durable player who can start nearly every game at the DH position.
